HABITAT RESTORATION ASSIGNMENT

Prepare a restoration plan for a degraded site.

The site of your choice may be public or private land. Discuss with me if in doubt about suitability of a site.

The plan may aim to restore a whole community/habitat or may target individual species that are rare /threatened etc.

You may work in small groups, if in doubt discuss with me.

The format of the plan may depend upon the site, the following is a guide:

Location and Ownership/Management

Aims - What are you trying to achieve?

Site History - European/Koori

Site Description - Topography, Soils, Flora, Fauna, Structures, Site Uses, Cultural Sites etc

Site Assessment and Methodology

Strategies for restoration

Monitoring

Appendices

Bibliography

Your plan is due by the end of the subject 14th June however the last 2 classes are set aside for class presentations where you are required to share your plan with the rest of us.

The plan is 40% of your subject mark and the presentation is 30%.
